1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Cooking spray or olive oil spray

1 cup marinara sauce

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Preparation Method :

1.Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

2.Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness, about 1/2 inch. Season with salt and pepper.

3.In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, dried basil, and garlic powder.

4.Dip each chicken breast into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs all over.

5.Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the breaded chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

6.Cook the chicken in the air fryer for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until the chicken is cooked through and the coating is crispy and golden brown.

7.Remove the chicken from the air fryer and top each breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.

8.Return the chicken to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

9.Carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.

10.Serve the Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan with cooked pasta or a side salad. Enjoy the flavorful and healthier version of this classic dish!

Benefits of Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan :

  1. Healthier Option: Using an air fryer significantly reduces the amount of oil needed for cooking. It requires only a minimal amount of oil or cooking spray to achieve a crispy and golden brown coating. This results in a healthier version of chicken Parmesan with lower fat and calorie content compared to deep-fried or pan-fried versions.
  2. Crispy Texture: The hot circulating air in the air fryer creates a convection effect, which helps to achieve a crispy exterior on the chicken without the need for excessive oil. The breadcrumb coating turns golden brown and provides a satisfying crunch, making the dish enjoyable to eat.

Conclusion

Cooking times may vary depending on the air fryer model, so it’s essential to monitor the chicken to ensure it’s cooked through. Adjust the cooking time as needed.
